Mister Rabbit, of her Magesty's creed, an unlucky fellow he was indeed!
Had he not been so late, he'd surely have met a different fate!
They say the Queen was so angered, chopped off his head was ordered.
And as a warning to be heed, the skin ripped off was agreed,
Mounted and mummified, his face was petrified.
In eternal display his watch has stopped, at the exact hour his head was popped.
But sad, lonely and snapped, within the mask his soul is trapped.

Alice in wonderland has always been my all-time favourite childhood fairytale. Maybe it's the atmosphere... maybe the whole alternate-dimention-where-everything-is-possible concept... or maybe the deep ingenuity behind analyzing dreams by the means of a tale...
...or all of these put together...

A tribute to the white rabbit, of course, as part of a personnal Alice in Wonderland-themed project; a one-of-a-kind mask to be part of my personnal collection (i.e. not for sale nor to be reproduced) for portfolio and exposition purposes (and a pretty awesome wall decoration). Also my first steampunk horror masterpiece.

If you are interested in this little project of mine, I have one song from it up on my youtube, which you can listen to here: [link]

For a good cracking effect, I'd suggest you have the surface of your mask as smooth as possible, which is kinda hard to achieve with paper mache.
But if you are able to get a really smooth surface, apply a base coat of paint or primer on it to make the paper waterproof so it does not absorb all the glue and paint you need for the cracking.
I hope it helps ^^
